What You Need Before You Travel

Passport Requirements
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
It should have at least two blank pages for visa stamps.
Visa Requirements
Most travelers need a visa to enter Tanzania, including citizens of the USA, UK, EU, Australia, and Canada.

Visa on Arrival
Available at major airports and land borders
Cost: $50 USD (or $100 USD for US citizens)
Payable in cash (USD recommended)
E-Visa (Recommended)

Easier and faster processing
Apply at least 2–3 weeks before your trip
Special Note:

Vaccination Requirements
Yellow Fever:
Required if arriving from or transiting through a country with risk of yellow fever
Proof of vaccination must be shown upon arrival
COVID-19:
As of now, no vaccination or testing is required
Subject to change — check with your airline or official government sources before travel
Customs & Travel Tips
You may be asked to declare large amounts of currency or electronic items.
Avoid carrying plastic bags — Tanzania has banned single-use plastic bags.
